If you currently have a basic understanding of Excel and you are working as a financial professional, or you intend to work in the finance field, this course is for you!

The 7+ hour online course is meant to build on basic knowledge of Excel using financial examples. You will learn many keyboard shortcuts and tips to become more productive!

Additionally, toward the end of the course we work through a comprehensive project which involves manipulating and analyzing a large amount of financial data, and then summarizing and visualizing the results. You'll get to keep our completed Excel course file and several PDFs containing best practices, tips, and keyboard shortcuts.

For nearly two decades, Dr. Marshall has been training employees at many of the world’s largest investment banks, hedge funds, commercial banks, and U.S. government agencies. Most recently, Cara has taught classes for the following corporations: Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan Chase, Federal Housing Finance Agency, U.S. Department of Treasury, Barclays, Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Citi, Bank of China, Nomura, Instinet, Fidelity, AMEX, Pinebridge, Wells Fargo, Lazard, and Prudential, among others.

Cara is also a professor of finance and risk management at Queens College, City University of New York. She is also currently serving as Director of the Graduate Program in Risk Management. Cara has been a pioneer of hybrid and online learning within Queens College.

Cara delivers courses primarily in the areas of: various levels of Microsoft Excel, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), financial modelling, Python, corporate finance, personal finance, risk management, risk measurement, and portfolio management.

Prior to academia, Cara worked in a variety of roles for Merrill Lynch and for a financial engineering firm. She is a published author, having written journal articles and a book titled, Financial Engineering: The Evolution of a Profession, which helps bridge the gap between theory and practical application.

The live workshops are conducted remotely via Zoom video-conference. After enrolling, participants can choose their workshops from a variety of dates. Each 2-hour workshop gives participants an opportunity to work through a new finance-related project, reinforcing tools and concepts learned online, while having the ability to ask the instructor questions one-on-one.
